What Should the Internal Temperature of Steak Be When It's Done?
Before firing up the grill, you should make sure you know the target internal temp for cooking a steak. When done, the internal temperature will vary based on how you prefer it.
- Rare Steak: 125 degrees
 - Medium-Rare Steak: 135 degrees
 - Medium Steak: 145 degrees
 - Medium-Well Steak: 150 degrees
 - Well-Done Steak: 160 degrees

Whether you like well-done or medium-rare steak, the internal temp when done will show you that the meat is ready without having to cut into it. Instead, just insert a meat thermometer into the thickest section of the steak.
